What types of countertops do you offer?
We specialize in custom countertops made from granite, quartz, marble, and quartzite. You can explore materials at our Richmond-based quartz & granite showroom.
Can you repair damaged countertops?
Yes. We provide full-service countertop repair, including chip and crack filling, seam rebonding, burn mark removal, stain correction, and polishing.
How do I care for my natural stone countertops?
Please see our Resources page or speak with a team member for stone-safe cleaning methods, sealing recommendations, and maintenance tips.
Will my countertops have any seams?
Seam placement depends on slab size and cabinet layout. While seams are not always required, they are not guaranteed to be invisible. You can request to review the seam layout before fabrication.
Will there be dust during installation?
Yes, dust may be created during installation. Our team cleans up thoroughly afterward, but we recommend covering nearby items. A thin dust layer may settle overnight and can be removed with a stone-safe cleaner.
What should I know about plumbing, electrical, and fixture prep?
Plumbing and electrical connections should be scheduled the day after countertop installation. If you're using under-mount or drop-in sinks, they must be on-site by the time of template or install. If you’ve selected our turnkey service, we can manage these connections for you. Otherwise, you'll need to coordinate them independently.
How long does installation take, from sign-up to completion?
Most projects are installed 1–2 weeks after signing a contract and paying a deposit. Templating, fabrication, and install timelines vary based on project size. Kitchens may take several hours or more; bathrooms are typically shorter. A 4" granite backsplash installs with the counters; full-height backsplash is templated after install and completed in a follow-up visit.
Do my cabinets need to be finished before templating or install?
Yes. All base cabinets—including islands—must be fully installed, painted or stained before any templating or countertop installation takes place.
Will you create a template of my cabinets?
Most projects require templating, though the method varies by job complexity. Simple vanities may take minutes to template, while larger projects may take several hours.
Will I need additional support for extended overhangs?
Yes. Any stone overhang of 9” or more must be supported with brackets or corbels. We’ll advise you on how many and what size prior to installation.
What’s the standard countertop overhang?
The standard overhang is 1½″. If you'd like a larger overhang on your island or raised bar, please be present during the field measurement to confirm.
Should I clean out my cabinets before installation?
Yes. Please clear off all counters and empty cabinets and drawers—especially below sinks and cooktops—to protect your belongings from installation dust and movement.
Can you remove my existing countertops?
Yes. We offer countertop removal services for laminate, granite, tile, or composite surfaces. Removals vary in complexity; let us know if you'd like us to handle it.
Can new stone be installed over existing countertops?
No. Cabinets must be bare before installing any new stone. We can remove your existing tops for you, or you may handle removal yourself.
Can I see my slab before fabrication?
Yes—and we encourage it. After templating, you're welcome to view and approve your slabs before we begin fabrication to ensure you're happy with layout and pattern placement.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Richmond, VA and surrounding areas including Chesterfield, Midlothian, Henrico, and other nearby communities.
